Speaking in front of nearly 300 people for the first time was a moment I’ll never forget! I love public speaking, but this was definitely the largest group I've ever been in front of. As I stepped onto the stage, I felt the same excitement I used to feel waiting for a Foo Fighters concert to begin—senses heightened, fully present, smiling and happy. This time, though, the spotlight wasn’t on a band. It was on a story. A story I happen to be working on.

I spoke at an event called "Not Til Now". The theme was "A Place for Courage - A Night of Firsts". My portion focused on Out of the Wishing Well, my upcoming music documentary inspired by 90s grunge, the Foo Fighters, and the way musical memories impact our lives. I shared why I am finally doing this after waiting for 25 years. The ups, downs and challenges to finally get to where I am now.

What surprised me most was the response. As I spoke about my career in the film industry, my inspirations, the loss that shaped this project, and the emotional weight music carries over time, the room leaned in. The connection was immediate and genuine.

Music documentaries aren’t just about legendary bands or iconic albums. They’re about memory, identity, and the moments that define us. That night reminded me why I’m making this film—not just to tell my story, but to spark reflection in others who found meaning through music.

Rockumentary about the Foo Fighters

Dave Grohl once said - "That’s one of the great things about music. You can sing a song to 85,000 people and they’ll sing it back for 85,000 different reasons." I felt a little bit of that speaking to a room full of people I'd never met.
