Here we are backstage at the Tweeter Center.  Becca, the girl in the yellow shirt, was a talented artist and made Dave a wire sculpture of the "FF" logo.  It was really beautiful!  Months later she met Dave again and he told her he made it into a Christmas Ornament and hung it on his tree!

While backstage at the Tweeter Center, this lanky figure started walking towards us.  As he got closer, he tripped and practically fell on top of us.  It was Jimmy Swanson - Dave Grohl's best friend since childhood!  When he stood up, we noticed he had tissues shoved up his nose.  He was a bit under the weather but remembered us and said "hello!"  Such a funny guy!  If you've read Dave's book, he is EXACTLY how Dave describes him. RIP Jimmy!

So, while at the Troubadour I was just minding my own business when out of the corner of my eye I see this guy that kinda looks like Weird Al.  Turns out it was Weird Al!  He was there watching the Foo Fighters with the rest of us.  He was super nice to everyone that said hello to him.  He was a big part of my childhood, so I do have to admit I chased after him for a picture.  I couldn't let this moment slip away!  I wanted to put this in my music documentary, but sadly it just didn't fit with the rest!

The way to make the best music documentary you possibly can is to lean on people you know.  When looking for an indie cinematographer I called my friend Sean.  We worked on numerous big Hollywood feature films together as well as a few independent feature films.  My first phone call to him was actually just an audio question.  But he was curious about what I was doing.  Once I pitched my idea to him, he was all in despite having never worked on music docos before!
